Sichuan Hotpot isn’t Chengdu’s only claim to fame in the culinary world. While this is one must-have dish in the city also known for its pandas, there is a whole world of spicy and unique dishes Chengdu locals enjoy.
The best part? You no longer have to worry about how to try them all! Lost Plate’s successful food tours are now available in Chengdu, along with their current operation in Xi’an. Why do we call them successful? Just check out some of their recent comments…
“An essential part of any trip to Xian. We originally just wanted the breakfast tour, but were so impressed we booked the evening tour on the very same day.”
“If you have only one night in Xi’an then this is an absolute must!!!”
“Can’t say enough good things about this tour, it was our favorite memory of Xian!”
Ruixi Hu, co-founder and lead guide, grew up in Chengdu and says she is super excited to introduce the local cuisine to foreigners visiting her city. “Our Chengdu tours will use many of the highlights that have created an awesome experience for our guests in Xi’an,” she said. This includes 4-5 food stops, unlimited beer & beverages, and private tuktuk transportation. She said she is also working on a special hotpot focused option as well, just for Chengdu.
Lost Plate will start offering Chengdu food tours in March 2016 and will run them all year. They will also be offering discounted rates for guests that are able to do a tour in both Xi’an and Chengdu.
