Made Here PDX

Everything this store carries is made right here in PDX and everything is unique. Whether it’s local snacks, drinks, or even goodies for your pet, this store has something for the foodie in your life. We suggest checking out one of their best sellers: tumblers from North Drinkware. These hand-blown glasses take two days to make and the Oregon series, which includes Mt. Hood and Mt. Bachelor, are beautiful and sure to impress anyone on your gift list. For the serious cook, consider the Finex Cast Iron Cookware, created by a group of craftspeople, cooks, and designers who want to reinvent and enhance cast iron cooking. Not only is the design stunning, but they are long-lasting, functional, and durable.

Powell's Books

No visit to downtown Portland is complete without a trip inside the largest independent bookstore in the world. Seriously, it’s one of the top tourists attractions in the entire state! With over one million books in the entire store, it can get a little overwhelming, but look no further than their cookbook section for the foodie in mind. There are hundreds of cookbooks to choose from, some new, some used, but all are filled with amazing recipes to try out any time of year. A cookbook from Powells is the perfect item to accompany any other gift idea on this list.

Tender Loving Empire

Simply put, this store is fun! Everything comes from in or around Portland, and every find truly feels one-of-a-kind. They even have their own record label signing small, local bands. While there are many food-themed gifts to choose from here, check out one of their packaged gift boxes. There’s a box for wine lovers, coffee lovers, even honey and chocolate lovers. For something more unique, go for a Portland-made ceramic coffee mug along with a bag of locally roasted coffee. Tender Loving Empire is jam-packed with so many awesome items, you’ll probably pick up a few items for yourself too; don’t say we didn’t warn you!

Portland Saturday Market

This world-famous Saturday market has been a staple in Portland for 44 years and going. Not only is this a great place to shop for unique locally made products, but it’s also a great opportunity to experience the local culture and fun spirit of our great city. You’ll find everything here, from artwork to ceramics to handmade cutlery and food. For the holidays they even have a “Festival of the Last Minute” where the market opens on special days and hours just before Christmas (hey- it happens to the best of us).

Vintage and Thrift Shops

In just about every neighborhood of Portland, you’ll find an awesome secondhand/thrift boutique or vintage store. These stores are filled to the brim with unique goods for just about anyone. Hawthorne Blvd. is probably the most well-known street to house these shops, but there are tons in every quadrant of the city, so make sure to do your research. Some of our favorite shops include House of Vintage, Magpie, Hollywood Vintage, and Portland Flea.

Urban Wineries

Portland Evening Food Tour Oregon Wine

Oregon’s Willamette Valley is one of the top regions in the world for growing vines, which means Portland is lucky enough to have amazing wineries and vineyards right in our backyard. But if you don’t want to leave the city to buy a wine gift, don’t fret! You can visit many of these winery’s tasting rooms right in the heart of the city. Buy a bottle or two to gift your loved one, or stock up on several for your next holiday get together. While there are many wineries all over the city, we suggest checking out Fullerton Wine, Erath Winery, Abbey Creek: The Crick, and Helioterra Winery.
