Evening Food Tour: Kick off the trip with a signature Lost Plate-style evening food tour through Beijing, tasting local classics and street snacks while getting your first feel for the city’s energy and flavors.

Morning Food Tour: Start the day with a Beijing breakfast food tour, tasting local morning staples and exploring hutong neighborhoods.

Forbidden City: Step inside China’s most iconic imperial palace complex, walking through grand halls, courtyards, and centuries of history at the heart of Beijing.

Shichahai + Nanluoguxiang: Wander Beijing’s famous hutong areas, with lakeside views, narrow alleyways, and local shops.

Payment & Cancellation Policy

How do I secure my spot?

A $500 USD per person deposit is required to reserve your place. Your booking is officially confirmed once we receive your deposit.

When is the remaining balance due?

Your remaining balance is due 45 days before departure.

What is your cancellation and refund policy?

If you cancel more than 45 days before departure, 80% of your deposit can be transferred to another Lost Plate multi-day trip departing within 6 months. Any payments made beyond your deposit will be fully refunded.

What if I need to cancel less than 45 days before departure?

Within 45 days of departure, the deposit and any additional payments are non-refundable, and no credit can be issued.

Common Questions

Can I book a private version?

Yes, private departures can be arranged for individuals, families, or groups seeking a more customized experience. We can offer customizations with timing and duration while preserving our thoughtfully designed routes and local partnerships.

Can you accommodate dietary requirements?

Yes, vegetarian diets can be accommodated. This trip spans multiple cities and specialty food tours, so some dishes can be adjusted, but it cannot fully accommodate vegan, gluten-free, or severe allergies.

Can I join as a solo traveler?

Yes, solo travelers are welcome. A single occupancy surcharge of $625 USD applies, as hotel rates are based on double occupancy.

Do the join-in group departures have a minimum size?

Yes, and we have a minimum guarantee. If the minimum (4 people) isn't met, your deposit is fully refunded or you can convert to a private trip for an additional fee.

What is not included in the price of the trip?

Your flights to Beijing and departing from Shanghai are not included, as well as any souvenirs, shopping, and other personal expenses or items not mentioned in our itinerary.

What about visas policies, packing lists, etc.
