Reservations canceled 24 hours or more before your tour start time are fully refundable. You’ll also have the opportunity to add “trip protection” when booking for even more flexibility.

Meet your guide at a coffee shop the heart of Downtown Portland. Before you know it, you’ll have a coffee in hand and set out to watch the streets come alive during your morning with us.
Get an expert-led demonstration on the art of pour-over coffee at this cafe which uses cutting-edge technology to guarantee perfection. After learning about Portland’s pivotal role in coffee’s “Third Wave” scene, you’ll be tasting coffee just like wine!
Portland has over 75 locally owned and operated donut shops (that’s a lot, btw), and locals are very divisive about their favorite. We’ll sample a selection of the best from our favorite shop, which (depending on the rotating menu) may include buttermilk bars, lavender glaze, and mochi.
From “Portland’s Living Room” and its echo chamber to Powell’s Books to our “Benson Bubblers,” Downtown is brimming with quirky history and surprises that perfectly capture our infamous “Keep Portland Weird” slogan.
The nitro cold brew trend started here, and the perfect place to try this creamy and smooth brew poured straight from the tap is at Portland’s most celebrated roaster.
At the coziest, most quintessentially Portland hole-in-the-wall café (that also roasts their own beans), indulge in a traditional macchiato paired perfectly with a homemade French pastry.

This tour can accommodate vegetarian/pescatarian, no red meat, no chicken, no shellfish/seafood, and no nuts. However, there will not always be direct substitutes for every dish that we try on the tour. Please note that each stop we visit may use these products in their kitchens.
We cannot accommodate gluten-free, vegan, dairy-free*, no eggs, and soy-free diets on this tour. These products are used in every kitchen we visit, and there are no substitutes or alternatives available.
*While we cannot accommodate dairy-free donuts or pastries, we can accommodate dairy-free drink requests.
This tour is designed for regular coffee drinkers, but we will try our best to accommodate caffeine-free drinkers when requested. Please note, caffeine-free coffee and/or direct substitutions are not available at every stop. For example, at our first and third stop they do not offer decaf coffee, so we will replace it with tea and/or hot chocolate.
We cannot accommodate severe allergies as we have no control over the preparation of your food.

All coffee is poured in easy-to-drink sizes at each stop; all coffee sampled over the entire tour equates to about 2-3 full cups of coffee.
All donuts eaten over the entire tour equate to about 5-6 whole donuts. Donuts are served in portions so you’ll be able to try a lot more than 5-6 flavors and varieties.
The best thing about this tour is that we do all the hard work for you! We have personally met with the owners and makers of these products and hand-selected the best coffee styles and donut types. We promise there is something for everyone!
Each coffee shop sells bags of their coffee beans that you are able to purchase and take home. There are often unfinished donuts from the tour that you are able to take home, but if you would like to purchase more donuts to snack on later, you’re more than welcome to!
This tour covers about 1 mile by foot, so we recommend leaving the heels at home. This distance is split up between 4-5 stops, so it’s roughly 5-8 minutes between each stop and a great chance to digest a bit before the next stop. We also find that exploring by foot is the best way to explore the area.

The tour starts right on time at a local coffee shop in the heart of Downtown Portland. You’ll get the exact address, directions, and transportation details immediately after booking.
The end location is approx. a 1/2 mile away from the start location.
Our minimum is 4 and maximum is 8. There’s no flag to follow, or megaphone, or tacky uniforms. It’s small enough to be intimate, but big enough to get away with trying several things at each stop. You’ll get plenty of face-time with the experts. Bottom line is, you’ll follow the guide through a super-local experience and make friends along the way.
This tour lasts about 2.5 hours and ends in a great part of Downtown.

Most people are very surprised how broad the culinary scene is in Portland, and our tours are a good way to discover those differences. We cover everything from food carts to private kitchen experiences, morning coffees to wine tastings. We encourage you to pick the tours that best fit your itinerary and we offer a 10% discount if booking more than one tour.

Yes! You’ll get a promo code in your confirmation email that will give you a 10% discount on all future Lost Plate tours. It doesn’t matter if the tour is in the same city or a different city, we want to keep feeding you as long as you let us. Also, children ages 4 through 15 receive a discount on all tours (3 & under are free).
Bookings cancelled 24 hours or more before your tour are fully refundable (100% refund). Bookings cancelled within 24 hours notice are not refundable. Cancellations must be communicated by email to info@lostplate.com or by phone. If you would like to reschedule your tour with less than 24 hours notice, we will need to charge 50% of your total since we are unable to fill your spots at short notice.
