What You'll Do:

Hotel Pick-up is Provided

Your local guide will pick you up at your hotel by tuktuk.

Angkor Wat Temple

Start your day getting up close and personal with Angkor Wat and it’s three iconic pagodas as we explore its 12th century walls that took over 30 years (and 5 million tons of sandstone) to complete. Decorated with thousands of legendary stories, we’ll have plenty of time to learn, explore, and create our best insta-moment.

Bayon Temple

Visiting beyond the temples of Angkor Wat allows you to explore the rich cultural and natural wonders of the surrounding area, immersing yourself in the history, landscapes, and unique charm of Cambodia.

Temples Off the Beaten Path

We’ll explore dirt roads with hidden forested ruins and climb ancient gates for unique views and larger-than-life carvings. You’ll feel like modern day explorers by lunch!

Lunch

Relax with a fresh coconut or juice and a delicious lunch at our favorite restaurant near the temples. We’ll enjoy local favorites like fish, lemongrass soup, and stir-fried morning glory.

Ta Prohm Temple

Explore this jungle-laden temple where Indiana Jones searched for the Ark of the Covenant and Angelina Jolie’s Lara Croft raided tombs.

Rest at Hotel / Free Time

After a busy morning, get some free time to relax. Consider escaping the afternoon heat by the pool or by getting a massage.

Sunset Food Tour

Start your 5-stop food tour at the countryside lotus fields and rice paddies with a picnic dinner at sunset. You’ll feel transported to a different world, where water buffalo roam locals pick lotus seeds for a snack, in the most magical of hours.

Local Family Visit

Visit Brother Vet and his stilted home for a meal in a village older than Angkor. Eat seasonal ingredients where civil war, God Kings, and European trading envoys passed for centuries.

BBQ, Banana Leaf Salad, Curry, and More

Visit two more of our favorite spots for food, including Siem Reap’s oldest BBQ stand and a great local restaurant for classic Khmer flavors that remind us of good-ole homestyle cooking.

Local Bar & Hotel Drop-off

Finish the night with an in-house cocktail that highlights local ingredients, or grab an ice-cold pint of Cambodia beer, at a fun local hangout. Then we’ll take you back to your hotel for the night.

Plus More Surprises!

Frequently Asked Questions:

In short, everything is included. The only thing excluded is a gratuity for your guide and driver if you wish to give them one.

Most importantly, your entrance ticket to Angkor Wat and all of the temples we visit is included in the price of our tour (this is often excluded by other tour companies). Additionally, your guide, tuktuk and driver, hotel pick-up and drop-off throughout the day, lunch, dinner (in the form of our Sunset Evening Food Tour), and bottled water/soft drinks are all included.

A lot! We are a food tour company, so we don’t take what we eat throughout the day lightly (literally). You can expect a plentiful and varied lunch, served alongside bottled water, soft drinks, and/or fresh juice. For dinner, you’ll enjoy our Sunset Food Tour, which involves 5 stops for local and authentic food. You’ll need to pace yourself as this is far more than a normal amount for dinner. Throughout the day, we’ll provide unlimited bottled water and soft drinks.

We visit small family-run eateries that often specialize in one type of food or regional cuisine. Further, fish sauce is an essential ingredient in Khmer cuisine and replaces salt in almost every dish. This means that vegetarian substitutions are not available at most places. If you are able to eat fish (Cambodia’s favorite protein) and fish sauce, then it will expand your options greatly.

This tour will be difficult for anyone with severe allergies to common foods as we cannot guarantee the absence of those foods or that cross-contamination won’t occur.

While we welcome everyone and will do our best to accommodate special diets, this tour will be best enjoyed by those who are ready and willing to eat everything. If you can’t, we require your understanding that options will be limited during the tour.

You’ll have the opportunity to provide your dietary requirements during the booking process.

We believe a successful day exploring involves a variety of must-see temples combined with a few lesser visited ruins hidden in the jungle. The must-see temples that everyone needs to see when visiting Siem Reap are included in this tour, and they are: Angkor Wat, Ta Prohm, and Bayon. We’ll visit at least two more temples that are not well-known, but well worth the adventure.

All transportation will be conducted by private tuktuk (plus your feet, of course). We think this is the best way to get around the city and the temples. The open-air vehicles are driven by our professional drivers and allow you to feel like part of the city (and the jungle) as the breeze flows through your hair while watching everything pass by.

A day at the temples is no simple feat. You’ll spend 1-2 hours on your feet at each temple. You should expect unpaved and/or uneven surfaces at all times, including some steep and narrow stair climbing. You should also be prepared to deal with whatever the weather throws at us – whether it’s hot sunshine, a downpour, or anything in between. We’ll make sure you stay hydrated and have time off of your feet between each temple, and you’ll also have a few hours of free time in the afternoon to relax before our evening food tour.

In general, we recommend wearing comfortable, close-toed footwear and clothing that is light and breathable. Knees and shoulders must be covered when visiting the temples. Shorts and dresses that cover the knees are acceptable, as are scarves that cover the shoulders. You’ll have some free time in the afternoon when you may decide to change before dinner. Depending on the season of the visit, you will experience intense sunshine and/or rain showers, so you should be prepared for those weather conditions.

Our tours run rain or shine. With that said, the weather in Cambodia is quite consistent and rarely present a significant problem.

In general, the climate in Siem Reap is always warm/hot and humid. During the dry season (November through April), you can expect warm sunshine with very little rain. Sun protection is important. During the wet season (May through October), rain showers are common every day, but rarely last long. This means you’ll need both sun and rain protection.

In rare cases of severe weather, the tour will be canceled and refunded. This is extremely rare (less than once per year) and at full discretion of your guide.

Believe us, you’ll appreciate some rest after a long morning exploring Angkor Wat and the area’s temples! Most guests decide to go back to their hotel to relax, take a dip in the pool, and change clothes before dinner. We’ll take you back to your hotel and pick you up there again for our evening food tour.

If there is somewhere else you’d like to go, we’ll be happy to drop you off there instead. This may include a massage parlor, a local market, or one of our art galleries. We’re happy to be flexible with our transportation, but please note that we will not take you from place-to-place if you plan to visit multiple places during your free time.

We’re happy to accommodate private tour requests. Please contact us to arrange this, as it is based on availability. Depending on how many people you have in your party, a private tour will incur an additional fee.

The child rate for this tour is only for children aged 4 through 11. An entrance ticket for children is not required to enter Angkor Wat, as long as they bring their passport to show their age. Children 3 and under will not be charged to join this tour.

Yes! You’ll get a promo code in your confirmation email that will give you a 10% discount on all future Lost Plate tours. It doesn’t matter if the tour is in the same city or a different city, we want to keep feeding you as long as you let us. Also, children ages 4 through 15 receive a discount on all tours (3 & under are free).

Bookings canceled 24 hours or more before your tour are fully refundable (100% refund). Bookings canceled within 24 hours notice are not refundable. If you would like to reschedule your tour with less than 24 hours notice, we will need to charge 50% of your total since we are unable to fill your spots at short notice.
