What You'll Do:

Enjoy Portland's Premier Neighborhood Tasting Room

Jumpstart your evening by tasting 4 different Oregon wines paired with local artisan popcorn at a winery that focuses on making approachable yet distinctive wine. While sipping and snacking, you’ll learn about the grape varieties in Oregon, how our climate keeps them growing, and why family-run wineries are the backbone of our wine industry.

Explore The Pearl, Portland’s Trendiest Neighborhood

Wander through a trendy district born from Portland’s industrial past. Each cobblestone road tells a story as it blends decades of architecture and tales, including the origins of Portland’s drinking scene.

Taste Oregon’s Pioneering Winery

Savor three different wine varietals in a rustic 1908 factory turned wine tasting room at one of the state’s pioneering wineries. Here, a wine expert will teach us the art of pairing local wines and cheeses…a true Oregon experience!

Stroll Through Portland's Historic Slabtown Neighborhood

Once a dense forest, this district bordering Downtown now boasts trendy restaurants, countless breweries, and charming wine bars. Best explored by foot, we’ll uncover relics of Portland’s beginnings from the industrial revolution all the way to our exceptional gastro-scene.

Become Part of the Family at a Winery with Danish Roots

Cap off your evening with 3 distinct wines, a white and two pinots, each paired with traditional Danish sandwiches called Smørrebrøds. Discover how this family’s journey from Denmark weaves a perfect blend of tradition and personality. You won’t be a tourist here – you’ll be part of the family.

Plus More Surprises!

ALL wine tastings are curated and are included in the tour price, along with small bite food pairings. Bottles will be available for purchase at each winery with exclusive tour-only discounts. If you have any other questions about the tour, please browse our FAQ below.

*This itinerary is subject to changes and adjustments based on daily vendor operations and availability, but it will always be awesome.

Did you know Oregon is home to almost 1000 wineries?

Welcome to Oregon, where the wine flows as freely as the Willamette River winds through its lush valleys. Nestled amidst this picturesque landscape, the city of Portland stands as a gateway to an unforgettable wine-tasting journey. There’s no need to drive 1-2 hours outside the city to a vineyard. In Portland, we bring wine country to you.

Each stop on this tour visits a local winery’s tasting room, offering a glimpse into Oregon’s winemaking artistry. These wineries offer award-winning wines at local hangouts where you’re welcomed like an old friend. Nothing is pretentious or stuffy, we promise!

The BEST part?! All of the wine tastings have been curated specifically for us, and each includes a small food pairing. You’ll try over 10 different wines including white, rosé, and red. Frequently Asked Questions:

All dietary requests must be communicated at the time of booking. When booking online, you will have the opportunity to let us know if you have any dietary requirements or special requests. Please use the following information to understand if this tour is right for you.

This tour can accommodate vegetarian/pescatarian, no red meat, no chicken, no shellfish/seafood, gluten-free, dairy-free, vegan, and no nuts. However, there will not always be direct substitutes for every dish that we try on the tour. Please note that each stop we visit may use these products in their kitchens.

We cannot accommodate severe allergies as we have no control over the preparation of your food.

This tour is designed for wine drinkers, but we can provide alcohol-free beverages at each stop along with the food pairings.

If you have any questions not answered here, please contact us prior to booking.

We’ve done all of the work for you, and guests love that this tour is curated with wine flights that are ready when we arrive. Due to time restraints and the nuance in personal preference, flights and bite pairings are pre-selected and prepared before the tour beings. Therefore we do not accept personalized requests. We will try a variety of white, rosé, and red wines at each stop.

We meet personally with the wine experts to select the best wines and bites (sometimes off-menu!) and perfect portions for you. We promise there’s something for everyone.

Each wine flight is paired with curated small bites. These bites are the equivalent of an appetizer, and not meant to be a replacement for lunch or dinner.

The tour includes around 10 wine tastes, which is the equivalent of about 3 glasses of wine. Each wine is paired with a small bite, which is the equivalent of an appetizer. This tour is meant to introduce you to the many varieties of wines in Oregon with small bites as a bonus. We find most people go to dinner after the tour.

Our tours include wine and paired bites, along with a local guide, in the price of the tour. Most wine tours to the Willamette Valley only include transportation, and tasting fees are paid for by you at each winery. That doesn’t happen on our tour!

You’ll not only eat and drink on our tour, but you’ll learn a lot while exploring Portland like a local. We want you to sit back, relax, and have us do all the work for you. The only thing not included is gratuity for your tour guide, which is always greatly appreciated.

Keep in mind, at each place we visit we pay for the wine, food, and staff gratuity. Winemaking is a labor of love, which does not come at a low price, and we are proud to support our partners for the tastes and service they provide to our tour guests.

While we do eat small bites on the tour, we suggest eating lunch beforehand. Please keep in mind we will be trying 10+ wine tastings which are best enjoyed on a full stomach.

While Portland has many great wineries throughout the city, we are limited on this wine tour by logistics; i.e. walkability, vendor operating hours, reservation requirements, etc. Since this is a walking tour through a small neighborhood, we do not take winery requests or customized tour requests. We’re confident you’ll love the wineries we’ve picked out for you!

The best part about wineries in Portland is that you don’t have to leave the city to try them! We will be walking through two Portland neighborhoods to 3 different tasting rooms. We will not be visiting vineyards outside of the city.

We will visit 3 wineries on the tour. We do not recommend visiting and tasting at more than 3 in one day. We are at each winery for approx. 20-30 minutes. Just enough time to enjoy a wine flight, paired bites, and get information from the expert staff.

We’re confident we’ve curated a very special experience that you cannot get on your own. You don’t have to worry about picking where to go, making reservations, and shelling out money for each tasting. You get to sit back while we do all the hard work for you! We’ve spent time with our winery partners to go off-menu and deliver an educational tasting and food experience you’ll only get by joining this tour.

Please note, this tour is all inclusive so your tasting fees are included in the price. Most wineries we visit also offer a discount on bottle purchases to guests on our tour. Plus, you’ll meet other cool wine-lovers on the tour who are there to have fun just like you! If you need any more convincing feel free to shoot us a message.

No, all tour guests must be at least 21 years old. Infants, children, or anyone under the age of 21 are unable to join the tour. Unfortunately, we cannot make any exceptions and we appreciate your understanding.

Yes! Each winery we visit will have bottles of wine for sale, and most wineries offer our guests exclusive bottle discounts you only receive by being on the tour. Even better, they’ll allow you to leave your purchase and pick it up after the tour or the next day.

All of our tours are rain-or-shine, so we suggest you dress for the weather (and bring an umbrella if it’s raining). In rare cases of extreme weather, your guide will cancel the tour and provide a full refund.

This tour covers approximately 0.5 miles by foot. This distance is split up between 3 stops, so it’s roughly a 5 minute walk between each stop and a great chance to digest a bit before the next stop.

Currently group sizes are limited to 10-12 people. (All people in your party must book a spot.) There’s no flag to follow, or megaphone, or tacky uniforms. It’s small enough to be intimate and get plenty of face-time with the experts. Bottom line is, you’ll follow the guide through a super-local experience and make friends along the way.

Almost all dining spaces in Portland, including tasting rooms, are casual. We suggest wearing comfortable, weather appropriate clothing. Oh, and don’t forget your rain jacket on those typical gloomy days.

Unfortunately, pets are not allowed inside food and drink establishments in Portland. While we would love to meet your furry friend, pets are not able to join our tours for the comfort and safety of all guests and vendors.

For the safety and comfort of our guests and guides, all tours are smoke-free. This includes cigarettes, cannabis, and vape devices.

We have many happy customers who do more than one of our tours in Portland. We have designed our tours to focus only on very different parts of the city and different cuisines. This means that each dish, story, and vibe is unique to each tour and there aren’t any repeats.

Most people are very surprised how broad the culinary scene is in Portland, and our tours are a good way to discover those differences. We cover everything from food carts to breweries, morning coffees to wine tastings. We encourage you to pick the tours that best fit your itinerary and we offer a 10% discount if booking more than one tour.

Yes we do! If you would like to book a special tour for your organization or group, just contact us.

Yes! We offer a 10% discount when booking more than one tour with us. You’ll get a promo code in your confirmation email that will give you a 10% discount on all future Lost Plate tours. It doesn’t matter if the tour is in the same city or a different city, we want to keep feeding you as long as you let us.

Bookings cancelled 24 hours or more before your tour are fully refundable (100% refund). Bookings cancelled within 24 hours notice are not refundable. Cancellations must be communicated by email to pdx@lostplate.com or by phone. If you would like to reschedule your tour with less than 24 hours notice, we will need to charge 50% of your total since we are unable to fill your spots at short notice. You also have the opportunity to add “trip protection” during booking for even more flexibility.
