How to Get a Cambodia Tourist Visa: Complete 2025 Guide

Planning a trip to Cambodia? You won’t have to jump through too many hoops. Most travelers can get their visa either online or right when they land. Here’s how to make it quick and easy so you can focus on the fun stuff.

Do I Need A Visa To Visit Cambodia?

All nationalities (aside from a few SEA countries) require a tourist visa when entering Cambodia. This visa can either be obtained online prior to your arrival, or at the airport upon arrival.

We strongly recommend applying for your Tourist (T) Visa online via the official government website. The cost is $30 USD (payable by credit card) and will take 3-5 business days to process.

Alternatively, you can also get a visa on arrival. This will require some extra processing time at the airport, and the cost is $35 USD. Payment can be made in USD cash (preferred) or credit card.

Arrival Card

In addition to a tourist visa, all travelers need to submit an arrival card prior to arrival. This should done online, up to 7 days prior to arrival, on the official government website. After submission, you will immediately receive a QR code. Save this code to your phone because you will need to show it upon arrival.

Airport Arrival Process

Each airport is a little different, but in general all travelers can expect the following upon arrival:

Ignore VIP Service Offers: Avoid the individuals near the visa area offering unnecessary VIP services.

Visa on Arrival: If you haven’t obtained an e-visa, you’ll need to obtain a visa on arrival. Follow the signs to a row of windows where you will submit your passport for processing and provide payment. Wait at the last window to receive your passport back with your visa.

Passport Control: Proceed to get the counters to get passport and visa stamped; fingerprinting and photos will be required (those with an online visa can go straight to this step).

Baggage Claim: Retrieve your luggage from the designated carousel.

Customs: Sometimes a short customs form is required, which is available at the exit if not provided on your flight.

Can I Extend My Cambodian Visa?

A tourist visa can only be extended once, for one additional month, and does not permit re-entry. Keep in mind that overstaying your visa incurs a fee of $10 per day.

Visa extensions are processed at the immigration office near the Phnom Penh International Airport. It is recommended that you use a local travel agent to apply for visa extensions. They are familiar with the application requirements and can apply for you so you don’t need to travel to the immigration office. Travel agents throughout the country are able to do this for you.
