We’d Love to Hear From You!
We’ll get back to you in less than 24 hours, 7 days a week. We promise.
Most people think that Angkor, the world’s largest pre-industrial city, has only left behind ruins hidden by overgrown jungle.
But if you look close enough, the descendants of this empire keep myth and magic alive through food, drink, and their relationship with the natural world around them.
We tell the story behind each dish and visit authentic, family-run restaurants all while sipping a cold beer and taking in the local Cambodian life.

“The entire evening was amazing! The selection of restaurants, the variety of dishes and the explanation of cooking methods and ingredients couldn’t have been any better! We ate in everything from small mom and pop restaurants that have been around for ages to family style traditional restaurants, to drinks in a trendy bar and then ended with street food desert. Our guide was enthusiastic and informative and did a great job of “managing” us and getting us from place to place!!”
“I would give 10 stars if I could – absolutely DO this! Hotel tuktuk pickup followed by an array of delicious foods at local restaurants (our guide explained each & showed us exactly how to eat the dishes); a drive past local produce markets on the way out of town with a stop in lotus & rice fields to view a gorgeous sunset; and a meal hosted in the home of a local family (the favorite of every member of our group). The final stop for a drink at a subdued & trendy little local bar had some of the most interesting & delicious choices (cocktails with lychee, peppers, pomelo, ginger, the list goes on). Take the tour, support the locals, have the time of your life, then give it the 5-star review it deserves. Highly recommended!”
“This is a must do in Siem Reap, the guide was passionate not only about sharing his knowledge of the local food, but in supporting the local community. This was by far one of the best food tours we have done.”
“Such a great experience! The guides were incredibly knowledgeable. They explained each dish. We went to restaurants that we wouldn’t have known about. The foods were all amazing! Each restaurant provided authentic dishes which were amazing! I would recommend this to anyone who is visiting! I would do this again in a heartbeat!”
“Based on a super Lost Plate tour experience in Portland, we booked this tour not knowing what to expect. The guides and tuktuk driver were so nice and hospitable. The local eateries were special in their own way and the food was excellent and accessible (not weird or scary). The highlight was having a meal in the countryside in a home. This was the “real” experience of everyday life in Siem Reap that you won’t get from the hotel or resort dining. One thousand stars!”
“Having been on several Lost Plate tours in China, I’ve come to expect excellence. I was not disappointed. Excellent food (those beef skewers!) and a great overall experience, including a visit to a private home. Our guide, Chan, was friendly and knowledgeable, the others on the tour were super friendly, and the whole experience was top notch. I just wish I had a second stomach.”
“This is a genuine experience of local Cambodian street food and market shopping. Our guide was well informed, keen to share her knowledge, kind and enthusiastic, who spoke excellent English. We had several welcome, unexpected surprises.”

“What an amazing food tour! We drank coffee, ate lots of food, and my favorite part was exploring a local street market. I learned so much about Khmer cuisine and the local culture from our guide, Seavyi. He was one of the best tour guides I’ve ever had, and was funny and answered everyone’s questions. Between all the drinks and food and exploration, this tour is seriously an amazing value. Highly recommend joining this tour for anyone visiting PP!”

Excellent food and market tour!
“Takes you to local places you most likely wouldn’t find on your own, where you taste a wide range of very typical Cambodian food. The visit to the market is a great addition, allowing you to find out about many of the typical ingredients.”

Knowledgeable and friendly guide!
“Seavyi has been a wonderful companion to explain to our group what Cambodians like to have for breakfast. We also visited a local market, and he gave great explanations about the food, the fruit, the spices…Thank you dear Seavyi for being such a knowledgeable and friendly guide!”

“Our guide was a fun and enthusiastic. Our small group enjoyed a fantastic mix of Cambodian cuisine from old to more modern dishes and restaurants. The pork ribs were the highlight for me but I also enjoyed the desserts! I joined solo on my first night in Phnom Penh and it was the best way to start my time in the city. The tuk tuks were comfortable, seeing the city and going past main attractions at night was very pretty and the pick and drop off went well (typical traffic issues but the guide communicated proactively that pick up would be a little late).”
“We had a lovely group of people on the tour. I was solo but the guide was very friendly and professional. He easily made me feel comfortable and connected to the rest of the tour group. The places we were taken to sample some of Cambodia’s staple meals was interesting and really out of the box. Some were very simple looking places and others were more modern. Each of those places served up delicious culinary dishes that excited the tastebuds!”
“Yummy food, super friendly and helpful guide, and great small group setting for a fun night out! We really enjoyed our food tour and got a good taste and background on Cambodian cuisine as well a few drinks for good measure and plenty of laughs in the back of Tuktuk’s on the journey around.”
“We tried many authentic local dishes that we would not have tried otherwise and especially enjoyed asking our guide about Cambodia and what life is like. We especially enjoyed the trip out to a local village and the meal we had there. A very authentic, memorable experience! We would definitely recommend this to others.”
By sharing the living history of cuisine by the hands that make it, we're changing the way people think about food and its role in the universe.
Only guides from each city can give you a true taste of the area in food and culture, all trained by our founders to ensure a perfect experience.
We also work with the community through local producers and partners to ensure you’re getting a real local taste of what each community can do.
We are not a tasting tour! If you leave hungry or thirsty, we aren’t doing our jobs. Most of our tours feature unlimited food and drinks (beer too)! Everything we eat is tried and tested, plus you’ll see how its made and learn about the families who make it.
The best part? You won’t have to worry about what to order or how to communicate with the owners at each stop, especially if you have allergies or dietary restrictions.
The local culinary scene in every city is defined by food and drinks, so we make sure you experience it all! Our evening tours include unlimited local beer along the way, and at least one stop to sink a glass (or few) of locally produced craft beer or cocktails. Our morning tours provide fresh juice and local coffee.
We visit local neighborhoods where real locals live and eat. You aren’t going to find any other tourists here, or run into other tour groups. Our restaurants are local legends, family-owned and often specializing in only one dish, which means the quality is high and the flavor is even better. These places wouldn’t survive without regulars, that’s how you know it’s good.
