Made Here PDX

Everything this store carries is made right here in PDX and everything is unique. Whether it’s local snacks, drinks, or even goodies for your pet, this store has something for the foodie in your life. We suggest checking out one of their best sellers: tumblers from North Drinkware. These hand-blown glasses take two days to make and the Oregon series, which includes Mt. Hood and Mt. Bachelor, are beautiful and sure to impress anyone on your gift list. For the serious cook, consider the Finex Cast Iron Cookware, created by a group of craftspeople, cooks, and designers who want to reinvent and enhance cast iron cooking. Not only is the design stunning, but they are long-lasting, functional, and durable.

Powell's Books

No visit to downtown Portland is complete without a trip inside the largest independent bookstore in the world. Seriously, it’s one of the top tourists attractions in the entire state! With over one million books in the entire store, it can get a little overwhelming, but look no further than their cookbook section for the foodie in mind. There are hundreds of cookbooks to choose from, some new, some used, but all are filled with amazing recipes to try out any time of year. A cookbook from Powells is the perfect item to accompany any other gift idea on this list.

Tender Loving Empire

Simply put, this store is fun! Everything comes from in or around Portland, and every find truly feels one-of-a-kind. They even have their own record label signing small, local bands. While there are many food-themed gifts to choose from here, check out one of their packaged gift boxes. There’s a box for wine lovers, coffee lovers, even honey and chocolate lovers. For something more unique, go for a Portland-made ceramic coffee mug along with a bag of locally roasted coffee. Tender Loving Empire is jam-packed with so many awesome items, you’ll probably pick up a few items for yourself too; don’t say we didn’t warn you!

Woonwinkle

Woonwinkel is a breath of fresh air in the middle of Downtown Portland. When you’re stressed out from the hassles of crowded malls or holiday shopping, come in here for a nice, relaxed shopping experience. Woonwinkel has small items that make great stocking-stuffers or larger items like furniture or kitchenware. Everything in Woonwinkel is made with care, high quality, and sure to impress everyone on your shopping list.

Boys Fort

What started has a holiday pop-up shop quickly grew into its own brick-and-mortar storefront carrying local Portland goods, handmade products, vintage items, and more. And if the name “Boy’s Fort” didn’t tip you off, this is the perfect spot to look for a gift for a guy-foodie. One of our favorite items is the unique cutting boards from The Cutting Board Project. Made in Portland, they are handmade using recycled scrap wood and are each one-of-a-kind. They are easy to care for and the tag on each board tells you about its previous life, such as an old kitchen buffet or dining table. While you’re in the store, check out their drink and bar displays for the beer or whiskey connoisseur you know. For the drink-lover on your list, they carry many accessories like whiskey rocks, growlers, flasks, and bottles of PDX bitters.

Cacao

Who doesn’t love chocolate?! Don’t answer that, we don’t want to know. Cacoa has been in Downtown Portland since 2006 and carries some seriously delicious chocolate, both for eating and drinking. One of their best sellers is their own drinking chocolate which is a blend of wild 68% Bolivian chocolate with organic 74% Dominican Republic chocolate. If you can’t decide between the drinking chocolate or single chocolate bars available, go for a chocolate gift box, a truly fantastic gift idea you won’t find anywhere else! While you’re shopping, make sure you treat yourself to drinking chocolate at their in-house cafe.

Portland Saturday Market

This world-famous Saturday market has been a staple in Portland for 44 years and going. Not only is this a great place to shop for unique locally made products, but it’s also a great opportunity to experience the local culture and fun spirit of our great city. You’ll find everything here, from artwork to ceramics to handmade cutlery and food. For the holidays they even have a “Festival of the Last Minute” where the market opens on special days and hours just before Christmas (hey- it happens to the best of us).
